President Michel Aoun applauded the pre-emptive security operations conducted by the Army and security forces to fend off the threats of “terrorists” along Lebanon’s northeastern border. Aoun made his remarks in a meeting with a delegation from the southern town of Aishieh in Jezzine. “Stable security in all Lebanese areas secures the right conditions to have a promising summer [season] on all levels,” he said, adding that work must be done to support the demands of residents of border towns, such as Aishieh and its neighboring towns.
