Lebanese Ministry of Information
Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, met at his ministry office on Tuesday, with a delegation of the “Coalition for Persons with Disabilities” headed by the President of the Lebanese Union for People with Physical Disabilities Sylvana Lakkis.
During the meeting, the delegation raised the issue of the upcoming municipal elections on May 7, calling for “taking the same measures that were taken in the previous parliamentary elections, in terms of allocating the ground floors so that people with special needs can vote without difficulty and exercise their electoral right.”
Discussions also touched on organizing a workshop in this regard, either at the end of April or upcoming May.
After the meeting, Lakkis highlighted the need for media to be supportive and friendly to human rights.
