Lebanese Ministry of Information
Information Minister, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, is scheduled to meet with Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Lebanon, Agnes Dhour, and the ICRC Humanitarian Affairs Officer, Shawki Amine El-Din, at the Ministry of Information.
The meeting comes as a follow up on discussions held between both sides on April 28, 2026.
Discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Information and the ICRC across areas of mutual interest, particularly measures to enhance the protection of journalists and media professionals while carrying out their duties in high-risk areas.
Talks will also address expanding specialized training courses and workshops on safety and risk prevention.
Ways to reinforce joint awareness campaigns implemented in partnership with international organizations and institutions will also be tackled, with the aim of raising public awareness of social, developmental, and humanitarian issues. Additionally, efforts to combat hate speech and promote a culture of dialogue and tolerance will be discussed.
The meeting will further examine mechanisms for coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Information and the ICRC to ensure a rapid response to emergency situations affecting journalists and media workers, particularly in areas facing security risks.
