Télé Liban Unveils Modernization Strategy, Introduces AI News Presenter and Announces New Programming

Télé Liban held its first annual gathering at its Hazmieh headquarters under the patronage of President Joseph Aoun, represented by Information Minister Paul Morcos, to present its modernization strategy, achievements and upcoming projects.

The event brought together Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani, diplomats, international partners, media representatives and Télé Liban Chairwoman and Director General Elissar Naddaf.

Morcos emphasized the broadcaster’s distinctive national role, highlighting its extensive audiovisual archive, commitment to objectivity and professional journalism. He praised efforts to digitize and preserve its historical collection and welcomed the institution’s revival following the appointment of a new board after 26 years.

Naddaf outlined reforms launched since July 2025, including technical upgrades, administrative restructuring, staff development and new partnerships.

She announced that new programming would begin in November, alongside the introduction of “Talia,” an AI-powered virtual news presenter scheduled to debut Saturday.

Naddaf stressed that artificial intelligence would support journalists rather than replace them, emphasizing responsible technology use and safeguards against misinformation.

The gathering featured presentations on upgraded studios, advertising revenues, employee conditions and institutional partnerships, including cooperation with UNESCO.

It concluded with the signing of an equipment donation agreement between Télé Liban and the Lebanese Media Development Company, followed by a tour of the broadcaster’s renovated studios.
