Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad, spoke in the wake of the Cabinet session held at the Grand Serail this Tuesday, saying: “Prime Minister Hassan Diab believes the government will have to decide whether to pursue [repatriation] flights or freeze them temporarily.”
“The PM pointed out that the adopted procedures were excellent, praising the efforts of the ministers of health, foreign affairs, expatriates, public works and transportation, and interior and municipalities, and indicating that the initial tests results were acceptable in terms of the number of infections [among returness],” she said.
“As for the reality of the spread of the novel Coronavirus, Diab saw that Lebanon is still within the acceptable limits, despite the pandemic spread in Bcharreh and the signs of potential spread in Akkar. He stressed, however, that any lax measures might allow the pandemic to infiltrate into several regions,” Abdel Samad went on to say.
