Prime Minister Hassan Diab chaired on Tuesday the meeting of the Ministerial Committee tasked with fighting corruption at the Grand Serail.
Discussions tackled the draft laws related to the mechanism of recovery of stolen funds. They also highlighted the importance of requesting the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation to correspond with the Central Bank’s investigation bureau by making an inventory of all data belonging to people in the public sector, matching the data with the Central Bank’s statement for comparison purposes, and investigating movable and immovable goods in case of non-conformity in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of Illicit enrichment Law No. 99/154.
Diab later chaired the Ministerial meeting for the repatriation of Lebanese citizens. Attendees examined the preparations for phase 2 of the repatriation, which is scheduled to resume on April 27th.
