Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Wednesday paid tribute to the martyrs of Lebanon’s press. “Lebanon’s press has lost many martyrs who had endeavored to keep the country a beacon of freedom,” the Minister said via her twitter account.
“Press martyrs are not only limited to May 6; I deem all those who have lost their lives during the other wars that we’ve endured as May 6 martyrs,” Abdel Samad tweeted.
“Every journalist who communicates the word of truth amid an era of rumors and fails to make a living — because he refuses to sell his pen — is the protector of the message of May 6 martyrs,” she added.
