Lebanese Ministry of Information
Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad, received Monday at her ministry office a delegation of Akkar Scholars Gathering, comprising Sheikh Moumen Rifai and Mounzer Zoghbi.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted “the deprivation and neglect” in the northern region of Akkar.
“Poverty and unemployment engender terrorism,” the delegation uttered.
Furthermore, the visiting delegation voiced fear “that the youth of Akkar get involved in sectarian strife.”
They also hoped that the government will find a solution to unemployment, and provide jobs to youngsters to keep them away from schemes aiming to sow seeds of strife and rift in Lebanon.
