Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Thursday said in the wake of the cabinet session, which was held at the Grand Serail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, that the PM was pinning hopes on the participation of all the political forces in Baabda meeting for the nation’s best interest.
“The PM has stressed that there’s no political cover for anyone when combating corruption,” she added.
Regarding talks about opening up to the east, Abdel Samad confirmed that Lebanon was open to every opportunity that could meet the needs of the country. “As for the deliberations with the International Monetary Fund, they’re of a confidential nature, and financial figures have not been brought up yet,” the Information Minister added.
She concluded by confirming that anyone who manipulated the US dollar price in the black market would be prosecuted through the emergency room that had been set up for this purpose at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities.
