Abdel Samad Marking International Day For People With Special Needs: We Welcome Any Initiative In Support Of Those In Dire Need Of Us

Caretaker Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Wednesday welcomed UNDP Director in Lebanon, Celine Moyroud, accompanied by United Nations Regional Ambassador for Climate Action, Michael Haddad.

Moyroud and Haddad briefed Minister Abdel Samad on the UNDP’s campaign, which is set to take place on December 3, 2020, marking the International Day for People with Special Needs.

They explained that the campaign would be launched — on foot — from Karantina area, where a complex will be inaugurated to provide services for people with special needs.

For her part, Minister Abdel Samad commended the initiative, and said: “Amidst these difficult circumstances that Lebanon endures, we are in a pressing need to be at the service of our society. We welcome any initiative in this regard, especially if it is in support of people with special needs, because they are in dire need of us today.”

Abdel Samad also called on everyone to support and participate in the aforementioned campaign.
