Lebanese Ministry of Information
Caretaker Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Wednesday welcomed United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubis, with whom she discussed general issues and an array of projects of interest to Lebanon, especially those related to the media sector.
In the wake of the meeting, Abdel Samad indicated that she had briefed Kubis on some of the projects that the Ministry of Information has been carrying out in cooperation with UNESCO, the United Nations Development Program, and other UN organizations.
She also shared with Kubis the Information Ministry’s plea for support from the aforementioned organizations in light of the deteriorating situation of media institutions in Lebanon, especially with the migration of many competencies and talents from the country.
Moreover, Abdel Samad emphasized that Kubis had welcomed the projects undertaken by the Ministry of Information to promote the media sector in Lebanon.
