Beirut Greek Orthodox Archbishop, Metropolitan Elias Audi, on Tuesday received Caretaker Information Minister, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, who well-wished him on the holiday season.
On emerging, Minister Abdel Samad said: “I visited Metropolitan Audeh to discuss an array of matters prevailing in the country, especially the stalled government formation which leads to a further deterioration of the situation,” adding, “we are facing an unprecedented economic, monetary, social and banking crisis, and this crisis aggravates over time in the absence of an effective government.”
In reply to a question, Minister Abdel Samad highlighted the dire need for the formation of a new government, appealing to decision-makers to form a cabinet the soonest; otherwise, matters will exacerbate leading to unfavorable consequences for everyone.
