Makary Visits Hazmieh-Based L’Orient-Le Jour Newpaper, Hails Its Significant Role

Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, on Thursday visited L’Orient-Le Jour newspaper in Hazmieh and toured its various sections.

Accompanied by his Francophone Affairs Advisor, Elissar Naddaf, Caretaker Minister Makary was received by the Daily’s General Director Nayla de Freij, Executive Director Fouad Khoury Helou, editors-in-chief and the newspaper’s media team.

Speaking in the wake of the tour, Minister Makary said: “First of all, I would like to thank you for your warm welcome at your prestigious newspaper L’Orient Le Jour,” hailing their efforts to keep this Newspaper existing, especially that the difficult circumstances impacted the print press and made it difficult to keep going.

The Minister also commended the institution’s efforts in continuing to recruit specialized young people and benefiting from their capabilities, thus motivating them to remain steadfast in their country.
