The Ministry of Information issued a statement on Saturday, indicating that “one of the websites has deliberately broadcasted a baseless report claiming that Information Minister Ziad Al-Makary has relinquished the ‘Tele-Liban’ building in Hazmieh in favor of Producer Sadiq Al-Sabah, alleging that the Minister is in the process of signing an agreement by which Mr. Al-Sabah will be granted one of the real estate assets of the Ministry of Information to build a media production city.”
The statement clarified that “the Ministry of Information, while reaffirming that the report’s content is completely groundless, underlines that Mr. Al-Sabah is of great national value whom the Information Ministry, and any ministry, is proud to deal with, and has made significant contributions to many state ministries and departments and not vice versa.”
It also emphasized that “the Ministry of Information takes into account in all its actions, the rules and laws in force, and therefore has no intention of signing any contract related to the Ministry’s real estate assets without observing the rules.”
“The Ministry of Information urges all media outlets to exercise accuracy and caution, and to verify with the Ministry any news related to it before publishing,” the statement concluded.
