Information Minister, Paul Morcos, on Thursday formally followed up on the cases of slain journalist Issam Abdallah and missing cameraman Samir Kassab, after raising both issues during Cabinet sessions on October 9 and November 20, 2025, which led to Cabinet Decision No. 34/2025 to examine available legal options.
Morcos sent official letters to Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri, Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, and Justice Minister Adel Nassar, stressing the national and humanitarian dimensions of the two cases and the need for an institutional framework to secure tangible progress.
Upon returning from Kuwait, Morcos also contacted his Syrian counterpart, Hamza Mostafa, who pledged to follow up with the relevant security authorities regarding Kassab’s fate.
