Information Minister, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, praised “the national positions and initiatives” expressed today by President Joseph Aoun in Bkirki, considering them to “clearly reflect the Lebanese state’s constants and full commitment to its sovereign responsibilities.”
“His Excellency’s assertion that negotiation is not concession and diplomacy is not surrender, his indication that contacts are ongoing to stop the violence and destruction, and other national positions, reflect the state’s firm determination to extend its auhtority and sovereignty over all its territory, in a way that preserves Lebanon’s unity and stability and safeguards its legitimate institutions,” Morcos affirmed.
He also commended the President’s emphasis on “preventing strife in all its forms and rejecting any discourse or action that could harm civil peace.”
Morcos stressed that these stances constitute “a unifying call for all Lebanese to rally around the state and its institutions, and strengthen an atmosphere of calm and national solidarity during this sensitive period.”
The Information Minister concluded by confirming that “protecting civil peace remains a paramount national priority,” and that “maintaining internal unity is the fundamental means to confronting current challenges.”
