Lebanon advanced four places to 89th worldwide and eighth Arab in the 2025 WRCES annual ranking, which assesses 206 countries across 115 Olympic summer and winter sports. The index is overseen by the International Center for Sport Policy and Governance at Notre Dame University–Louaize in cooperation with World Sports Rankings.
The report highlighted Lebanon’s qualitative progress regionally, driven by broader participation in multiple competitions. Prepared by Dr. Nadim Nassif and his team, the ranking is regarded as a reliable barometer of national sports performance based on international and continental results and related indicators.
