Lebanese Ministry of Information
Minister of Information, Attorney Paul Morcos, on Monday received South Korean Ambassador to Lebanon, Gyusuk Geon, accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Geon said that he discussed with the Information Minister “ways to enhance cooperation between our two countries in the public media sectors, with the hope of further developing our relations, partnerships and cooperation in the future.”
Minister Morcos also received former MP Emile Rahme, with whom he discussed the latest general developments.
Separately, Minister Morcos signed an agreement with AUL University, represented by its President, Professor Fawaz El-Omar; Vice President Dr. Adnan Shaaban; and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Amneh Al-Mir.
Minister Morcos said: “We are seeking to cooperate with various universities so that we can welcome university students from different fields of study to the Ministry of Information and its affiliated media institutions, such as Radio Lebanon and the National News Agency, allowing them to receive training, benefit from practical experience, and build greater expertise after graduation, and even during their studies.”
Morcos noted that “agreements have been signed with several universities,” adding that “these agreements open the Ministry’s doors to the new generation.”
He said: “We cooperate extensively with students and young people. Many of them are currently completing internships at Télé Liban and benefiting greatly from the experience, particularly since the university has a media department. As we work toward a new revival in both Radio Lebanon and Télé Liban, it is very important to us that our students participate in this project.”
