Minister of Information, Ziad al-Makary, on Tuesday welcomed a delegation representing Lebanese University’s contractual professors, with whom he discussed a number of LU issues.
Minister Makary expressed keen interest in supporting the LU, deeming it “the University of the homeland.”
He promised to share the professors’ demands with the Council of Ministers and exert every effort to help salvage the Lebanese University.
“The Lebanese University endures very tough conditions that negatively affect its continuity, especially since it is the only public university in Lebanon, and it provides the highest levels of education to all the Lebanese students,” he added.
Minister Makary separately welcomed a delegation representing the Syndicate of Press Directors and Graphic Designers headed by Captain Ali Kamal El-Din, with whom he discussed the Syndicate’s affairs and concerns.
Minister Makary promised to exert every possible effort to help the syndicate amid the prevailing circumstances.
